In Kenya he is ever pampered with VIP treatment from unlimited state of the art cars,security amongst other privileges that comes with the Deputy President post which is second to the ultimate President's.
But while in the Hague as the prosecutor Bensouda had earlier stated,he is treating like an ordinary accused person and not given any privileges that could be anticipated given his position.
This has been broadcasted with the treatment he gets outside the court. It has already been revealed how the Kenya ambassador in Holland hired a taxi and private firm security to chauffeur the DP around. The Netherlands government is also treating him as an indictee hence not given any state special treatment.
But unlike most of the MPs who accompanies him to the courts and forced to sleep in downtown cheap hotels in the Hague city,the DP has been secured one of the best in the city where he stays together with the wife and family members accompanying him.
On Sunday Ruto in the company of Kericho senator Charles Keter and Baringo governor Gideon Moi were spotted taking a stroll in the Hague streets just like the ordinary mwananchi in what in Nairobi is called raundi Mwenda or put in better word,walking around aimlessly.
The picture gives a rare picture of the DP,no security detail,no nothing. They seem relaxed and well acquainted with the surrounding though the traffic rules would get them on the rough side of the road,they are walking along cycles path at some point.
