As many people happily ushered in the new year, many also lost their lives and one of such is the late Chrispin Mawang. His death caused much shock since he was tweeting from the account and even wished everyone a happy new year. By then the tweets were coming from him typed by himself.
Few hours later a family member posted that he had passed away at a hospital in BuruBuru.
But as his online friends were coming into terms with the sudden demise, another state of confusion was building up. Mawang's twitter account was apparently active and retweeting all tweets sent to his name giving an impression that he was the one doing that manually, many argued that he wasn't dead and probably faking. Retweeting for those who are not on twitter is an equivalence of liking your own Facebook status. The strange activity on his twitter page hours after he had been confirmed dead created a disbelief amongst many it appeared like he was tweeting from his death. Normally when one dies and no one has their log in details, the account will as well die. However for Mawang,it didn't. What many people didn't realise is that the late had subscribed to a service which detects any tweet sent to your handle and automatically retweets it so it wasn't him tweeting from the dead but the service he had subscribed to. That is what played the magic and he tweeted from his death. Maybe if you want to keep tweeting when you finally die then that's what you do. For those active on twitter and following one Octopizzo you might have noticed him retweeting anything from compliments to insults, well this is the idea behind that too. Would you like to continue updating your social pages when you die?
